5R Motors (Guangzhou) Co.,Ltd. is one of the key enterprises of Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co.,Ltd., (GAIG) with specific responsibility for overseas markets.
GAIG was founded on June 8th, 2000, on the integration of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Motors Group Company. It is authorized by Guangzhou Municipal Government to operate state- owned assets, and is a large-scale company group with heavy support from Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipality, in 2004, GAIG sold 210,000 cars and 620,000 motorcycles, realizing a sales income of 5.35 billion U.S.Dollar, with a pre-tax profit of 1.4 billion U.S.Dollar. In 2004, GAIG ranks 50th among “Top 500 strongest companies in china”.
In the field of motor, the group holds independent research and development department. On the basis of introducing Honda’s technology, it also cooperated with Italian GIUGIARO Design Company and Tianjin Internal-combustion Engine Research Institute and opened up several new types of motors with our own intellectual property right. The group not only produce WUYANG – HONDA brand motorcycle with HONDA MOTOR，LTD. VIN, but also produce our own WUYANG brand motorcycle. By now, the company can produce 1,000,000 engines and 1,000,000 whole motors annually.
