The DNA sample is first treated with sodium bisulphite which converts the unmethylated cytosine bases to . The methylated cytosines on the other hand, remain unaffected. The design results are reported in a ranked order, giving you a list of alternates to choose from. Depending on the oligo properties, a rating is assigned.
