应用范围：光缆交接箱是用于光缆接入网中主干光缆与配线光缆节点的接口设备，具有光缆熔接、直通、和光纤储存、配线功能。
按材质分类，可分为IP65级不锈钢和不饱和聚酯玻璃纤维增强材料。
按容量分类，光缆交接箱主要有48芯、72芯、96芯、144芯、288芯、360芯、576芯，720芯，960芯，1152芯，1440芯几种。
结构
一般的光缆交接箱均由：箱体、一体化熔接盘、光缆固定板、挂纤柱几部分组成。
特点
交接箱具有配线、熔接、储纤、调纤功能，有顽强地抗野外环境的性能，并能抵受剧烈的气候变化和恶劣的工作环境，箱体密封性能良好，防护等级达IP65级要求。
箱体可为前开门或前后开门，箱内有充足的布纤、储纤空间，有足够的绕线盘、挂线钩，方便用户操作。
模块化设计，布局合理，功能多，密度大。
采用防盗门锁形，安全可靠，具有良好的防破坏功能。箱体有灵活的进出光缆结构和灵活的内连接结构。
可采用FC或SC型适配器，适配器40斜角，可避免弧光直射人眼。
光缆加强芯根据客户需要，也可采用光缆固定罩壳形式，适用于普通和带状光缆。
接地方式：箱体共有两层地，一层为保护地，光缆加强芯与保护地相接。另一层为机架地，该两层地之间互不相通，分别通过各自的接地线通向机房大地。
在箱体内设有的光缆直通熔接区，两端光缆在直通熔接区内连通。
箱体底部高、空间大，便于光缆引入时有更大的曲率半径，安装操作施工方便。
机架有良好的接地系统。
机内塑料件采用阻燃材料。

【功能要求】
1．光缆固定与保护功能：应具有光缆接入，固定和保护装置。该装置将光缆引入并固定在机架上，保护光缆入缆中纤芯不受损伤。光缆金属部分与机器绝缘，固定后的光缆金属护套及加强芯应可靠连接高压防护接地装置。
2．光缆终接功能：应具有光纤终接装置，该装置便于光缆纤芯及尾纤接续操作、施工、安装和维护。能固定和保护接头部位平直而不位移，避免外力影响，保证盘绕光缆纤芯、尾纤不受损伤。
3．调线功能：通过光纤跳线连接器接头。能迅速方便地调度光缆中的纤芯序号及改变光传输系统的路序。
4．光缆纤芯和尾纤的保护功能：光缆开剥后纤芯有保护装置并固定后引入光纤终接装置。
5．容量：每机架容量和单元容量（按适配器数量确定）应在产品企业标准中作出规定，光纤终接装置，尾纤盘线装置，适配器卡座，尾纤及适配器，在满容量范围内应能成套配置。
【安装说明】
1.落地安装时：先在预制的水泥基座上按安装尺寸预留4个M12的地脚螺钉,地脚螺钉凸出基座表面约为150mm，安装时先打开设备门，将设备内底部的两个插销拔出，并打开设备底座面板，将设备放在水泥基座上，用螺母将底座内的地脚螺钉拧紧，合上基座面板，插好插销，锁紧面板。
2.架空安装时：在站台适当位置留出4个φ13孔,根据安装尺寸将设备固定可靠
