登封枫林核桃壳是一种经脱脂、破碎、筛选等处理加工过的颗粒状，表面多微孔，吸附效果较好的滤料及抛光磨料。
（1）粒径为1.25-1.60mm的核桃壳粒，平均抗压极限为0.2295KN(23.40kgf)。
（2）粒径为0.80-1.00mm的核桃壳粒，平均抗压极限为0.165KN(16.84kgf)。
（3）化学性质稳定，不含有毒物质，在酸、碱、水中溶解量很小，核桃壳在盐酸溶液中的损耗为4.99%，在氢氧化钠溶液中的损耗率为3.8%，不会引起水质恶化现象。
（4）堆积密度：16#--36# 0.85±0.05g/cm； 46#--80# 0.80±0.05g/cm
