黑刚玉又名低铝刚玉砂，铁砂粉。黑刚玉是一种新型抛光材料，以三水型和一水型铝矾土为原料经电弧炉高温冶炼而成。黑刚玉磨料基本粒集中，切削力强，韧性大，刚柔相济，耐磨性好，工效高。主要用于不锈钢，金属制品，光学玻璃，竹木制品的抛光和喷砂，又是制造树脂砂轮，切割片，砂布的新颖材料。
