欧盟的防爆认证指令（ATEX）主要有两部分组成：
1、ATEX制造商指令94/9/EC，包括了机械设备及电气设备，把潜在爆炸危险环境扩展到空气中的粉尘及可燃性气体、可燃性蒸汽与薄雾，该指令通常称为“ATEX95指令”；
2、ATEX用户指令1992/92/EC，即关于改进出于潜在爆炸性环境危险中工人的安全和健康保护低要求的指令，称为“ATEX137指令”。
